Location Not Updating in Background or When Screen Locked?

Smartphones from manufacturers like Xiaomi (MIUI/POCO), OPPO, VIVO, Realme, and Huawei use aggressive battery savers that forcibly stop background location tracking when the screen turns off.

Follow these 2 simple steps on your smartphone to allow 24/7 uninterrupted tracking:

Step 1: Disable Battery Optimization
  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to Apps → OLOL Tracker → Battery.
  3. Select Unrestricted or No Restrictions.
  4. Or inside the OLOL Tracker app dashboard, tap "1. Disable Battery Optimization".
Step 2: Enable Autostart (Xiaomi / Vivo / Oppo / Realme)
  1. Open Settings or Security App on your phone.
  2. Find Autostart / Background Startup management.
  3. Enable the switch for OLOL Tracker.
  4. Or inside the OLOL Tracker app dashboard, tap "2. Enable Autostart".

OLOL Tracker is designed for group and workforce monitoring. The "Allow all the time" (Background Location) permission ensures that your group admin receives real-time location updates even when your phone screen is turned off, minimized, or when using other navigation or communication apps.

If a field member's phone enters sleep mode or encounters battery saver throttling, Group Admins can trigger a Silent Remote FCM Ping directly from the web dashboard or admin app. This sends a silent high-priority Firebase push command that instantly wakes up the background location service on the field member's phone to upload fresh GPS coordinates.

Group Admins can configure custom Geofence radius perimeters (e.g., 500 meters) and Max Speed limits (e.g., 80 km/h) in Group Settings. When a member crosses the workplace perimeter or exceeds the assigned speed limit, an automated alert notification is instantly sent to the Admin.

OLOL Tracker respects employee privacy outside work hours. Admins can define strict work shift start/end times (e.g. 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM), meal breaks (Break 1), tea breaks (Break 2), weekend off, and holiday schedules. Location tracking automatically pauses outside assigned work shift hours and during break times.

Your Group Administrator will provide you with a unique Group ID Code (e.g. GRP-123456). During registration in the mobile app, select "Member" and enter this Group ID Code. Upon registering, your account status will be set to "Pending Approval" until the Group Admin approves your request from the dashboard.

OLOL Tracker features a zero-data-loss local SQLite caching engine. When internet connection is lost, GPS coordinates continue recording locally in the smartphone's encrypted SQLite database. As soon as cellular network or WiFi is restored, all cached location points automatically batch-sync to the cloud server.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated location history inside the OLOL Tracker mobile app under Profile → Delete Account 🗑️, or submit a request on our Contact Us page.
